This Mid-Century Modern coffee table stands proud of the cookie-cutter tables you'll find elsewhere because of its unique tabletop made from a single piece of highly figured black walnut. It has nearly every type of figure imaginable: crotch figure (between limbs), compression figure (under the limb), spalting (black lines in the sapwood), and a marbling of color variation. The tabletop "floats" above the spider-like base, also made with walnut.
